Employed Adult Therapist

2 days per week

Safety Net provides tiered services for those affected by rape, exploitation, sexual and domestic abuse across Cumbria. We are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to its ethical framework. 

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and proactive therapist to join our team. This role is an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by trauma. As an employed adult therapist, you will provide therapeutic support to adults and young people aged 16 and over. You will work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies. Your role will also contribute to the development of trauma-informed best practices within the organisation.

Reporting to: Head of Clinical Practice and Head of Operations

Type of Contract: Employed

Hours:  7 hours a day (2 days a week)

Pay: £26,052 - £38,850 (pro rata based on 7-hour day.)

Base: Carlisle Headquarters

Holiday: 30 day annual leave plus bank holidays (5 days to be taken over Christmas as office is closed for 2 weeks pro rata). 

Pension: We offer an enhanced 4% employer pension contribution.

Freelance Children and Young People’s Therapists / Counsellors

Full time or part time hours - minimum 4 sessions per week.

Safety Net drives forward our work to help improve the lives of those effected by rape, exploitation, sexual and domestic abuse in Cumbria. This is an exciting time to join our dynamic and expanding team. We are looking for someone who is committed to making a difference to Children and Young people, someone who has enthusiasm , initiative and compassion and who enjoys working in a busy environment. Safety Net provides a tiered service provision based on a risk and needs-led assessment. We offer a range of trauma informed and holistic recovery approaches to working with individuals or whole families.

We offer an employee assistance package, clinical supervision, and case management.

There will be a full induction on processes and training around systems, process, role specific training, trauma, domestic and sexual abuse training.

We are a committed learning and development charity providing extensive CPD and career progression.

Reporting to: Head of Operations

Type of Contract: Freelance/Employed post would be considered for the right candidate.

Hours: Minimum of 7 hours ( 1 day , 4 clients a day)

Pay: A sessional rate of £35-£40 per client session (including all client administration) depending on accreditation, qualifications, and experience.

Base: This freelance post can be a hybrid role, with the successful candidate working remotely from home, but with the expectation to travel to attend meetings and training when required. The successful candidate may wish to offer face to face sessions and travel across Cumbria working remotely from approved outreach offices and our headquarters in Carlisle.

We’re Looking for Trustees!

Safety Net is a charity and the main provider of recovery services for those affected by rape, exploitation, and sexual and domestic abuse across Cumbria. We offer support, advice, therapy and a safe space to help people recover from the trauma of abuse. We are an inclusive and LGBTQ+ organisation with ambitious plans and a solid commitment to our clients. 

As a Safety Net trustee, you will have a leadership role within our charity. You will set a clear and inspiring direction, ensuring we meet our charitable objectives and goals. Your role will involve evaluating our progress and supporting the expansion of our services. We are looking for trustees who are passionate about supporting victims and survivors of domestic abuse and who deeply understand our vision, mission, and values.

We’re looking for a number of trustees with:

  • Business finance experience

  • Therapeutic experience 

  • Lived experience 

Type of Contract: Volunteer.

Pay: This is an unpaid volunteer position.
